Our Story

The Home of Refugee Artisans

Crafugees was first conceptualised as part of a Youth Leadership Academy project. Realising the impact it had on the lives of the refugee communities, the project team together with Maker’s Habitat, a sewing and craft studio, formed an official social enterprise in October 2017.

Partnering with UNHCR, Crafugees is currently actively involved with two refugee communities; HOPE and Lady Ayaz, from Pakistan.

Ongoing sewing training sessions are being held at Maker's Habitat with the continuous development of product patterns; ranging from home decorative items to bags and pouches.

"There are so many beautifully crafted products made by refugees, but they're lacking of a platform to showcase their products."

- Hadia, UNHCR Volunteer
